The Illusion of Perception is an experimental piece of mixing ink, pastel chalks, charcoal, and prisma colored pencils. Here I also pushed the boundaries of how we perceive certain objects from life. For the left skeleton, the writing serves as the building blocks of how I studied the skeleton. Rather than starting from a traditional sketch, I wrote offside notes and layered the piece, mostly as a form to see how different mediums interact with one another. I also began to think of a love story ending in heartbreak, adding little anecdotes and projecting how the story flowed in my mind as I continued the piece. As for the right, it is a continuation of the love story. First I focused on the technical aspect of the skeleton, and then I layer more with an atmospheric interpretation of how the skeleton felt during the love story. The cool colors, first as an experiment, now contribute to how the love story ends.
